Photo Session FAQs
Photo Session FAQs
Where do you shoot?
I’m a natural light photographer, so the outdoors is my studio. I have several session locations in Keller, Southlake, Roanoke, Grapevine, and Colleyville, Texas. When we schedule your session, I’ll discuss the look you want and suggest an option or two. Feel free to head on over to my blog so you can check out various sessions and their locations.
What’s your cancellation policy?
I am happy to reschedule, at no charge, when inclement weather- rainy or too cold- hinders us from having an enjoyable session. (Please be considerate of my time when contacting me about rescheduling.)
What about props?
I love when clients bring props to sessions! Please let me know if you plan to bring any.
If you photograph my family, will I receive individual photos of each child?
Yes. When I photograph a family, I capture each child individually and try to feature their personality. Also, I take shots of just the kids, kids with Mom and with Dad and then at the end (when the kids are done smiling) I will take a few shots of just Mom and Dad.
How about my dogs?
If you have dogs that you can manage during the session, I am glad to photograph them with you at no additional cost. I do, however, suggest that you bring someone who isn’t being photographed to “herd” the dogs.
A relative is in town. Would you mind doing a few shots of them?
All sessions include as many as 4 people. I am happy to photograph more than 4 folks for an additional $25 per person.
Why the $25 per extra person fee?
Larger groups require more much more editing work, and I’m sure you’d agree that’s only fair.
What should I wear?
Here are a few general guidelines, but for a more in-depth look at planning your outfits, please check out my photo shoot outfits advice: Wear something that looks like YOU. Wear something you’re COMFORTABLE in. (Bad grammar, I know.) Avoid heavily logoed clothes and old ballcaps (ahem, gentlemen). I typically ask that people not wear flip flops. Your feet will wind up in some shots, so give consideration to what you wear on them. As far as color schemes, contact me for specific ideas, but I love to see a few colors coordinated in various solids, textures and prints in a group shot. Jewelry and accessories? The more the merrier!
What kind of editing do you do?
Standard editing includes: color balancing, cropping, touch-ups of minimal skin imperfections (wrinkles, mild acne and dark eyes), and some black and white options. More in-depth editing for issues not related to photographer performance (varicose veins, advanced skin issues, removing braces, head swapping, etc.) is available at a rate of $75 per hour.
May I purchase unedited photos?
Because I want you and your family to have my very best finished product, I do not offer unedited photos.
