Two words can be used t0 describe my attempt with Sawyer at 2014 Texas Bluebonnets photos: Epic & Fail. I learned last week that the one thing he detests worse than a camera in his face is bluebonnets around his legs. Truly, he is his mother’s child. The thing is, if you look at this Read more ..
For some reason, I love the idea of doing a Valentines Mini Session with my own little munchkin each Valentine’s Day. It’s after the holiday rush and before the weather and sessions really pick back up during the spring. Last year, we did a quick family session, but this year, I took the little guy to a field near our neighborhood and did a quick Valentines mini session.
I so enjoyed my afternoon with Andrea and her sweet family out at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad as we captured their winter family photos!
Have you ever met a couple and spent a little time with them for the purpose of conducting business but thought, I could totally hang out with these people and have a great time? That’s how I felt when I spent an evening capturing sunset photos at the railroad with the Thomas family. We had Read more ..
I so enjoyed my morning with the Chac family when we met up to capture their family Christmas photos at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens!
Our crazy Texas weather often makes it difficult to plan what to wear for Christmas family photos, well into the month of November. And we definitely experienced that predicament with this family photo session.
I had the opportunity to capture a kids fall photo session with Jackson and Khloe, brother and sister, at Bob Jones Nature Center in Southlake, TX last month.
This local family who is not originally from the Dallas Fort-Worth area had their first Grapevine Vintage Railroad photo session and chose me as their family photographer for their family Christmas photos!
I enjoyed getting to meet and work with the Remley family to create their family Christmas card photos shortly after they moved to the DFW metroplex.
What you wear can make or break a photo session, and finding just the right photo shoot clothing can be super stressful for Mom. To give you a few ideas, here are a few DO’s and DON’T’s for what to wear for family photos.
- Plan ahead– There’s nothing more stressful than digging through your children’s closets the night before looking for something, ANYTHING that will look decent in photos. You’ve made the investment into a custom portrait session, so take the time to plan ahead on clothing, and give yourself 2-3 weeks to decide on a color palette, browse fashion boards on Pinterest, look through magazines, raid your family’s closets, and purchase the remaining items for your photo wardrobe.
I enjoyed getting to meet the Gibson family for their family photo session at their Flower Mound home.
It’s the Kennedy family, back for their second photo session!
Bluebonnets are a relatively new phenomenon to me. When I first moved to Texas 13 years ago, I didn’t quite get why people went nuts every spring over blue flowering weeds growing by the highway. I mean, they are weeds, right? But the longer I’ve lived here, the more they’ve grown on me (no pun intended), and the more I’ve realized that they are kinda a big deal. Why? (more…)
This little man just turned two, and while he wasn’t too thrilled at the prospect of taking his second birthday photos, we did get a few good shots out of our session together at the Bob Jones Nature Center & Preserve in Southlake, TX.
Things really started looking up for us when John discovered a shiny tin watering can! (more…)
I so enjoyed working with this family and their precious little girls, Callie & Delaney, to take some fresh, updated family photos at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens, in Grapevine, TX. Callie had a sweet, soft smile and a demure personality. Delaney was vivacious, personable and full of spunk! We got a little rain that day, Read more ..
I enjoyed meeting up with these two handsome little valentines, Mason & Marshall, for a Valentine’s Mini Photo Session at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens in Grapevine, TX. Check out these two cuties! 🙂
I enjoyed a fun morning with the Kennedy family at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens and the adjacent park. I loved that their mom specifically wanted photos of her kids having fun and just being kids with minimal editing and touch-ups. I especially loved this guy’s freckles! And of course, can’t forget Mom & Dad! Thank Read more ..
I enjoyed spending the morning in Grapevine with Dr. Emily Kirby of Kirby Plastic Surgery, her husband and their two boys. Such sweet boys and so fun to work with! Thank you, Dr. Kirby and Randol, for allowing me to create your personal and professional portraits.
I enjoyed the morning I spent with this sweet family at one of my favorite parks. Loved the color combinations they chose. Their children were eager to please and some of the sweetest kids with whom I’ve worked… not to mention, totally adorable. Best wishes and many thanks to this great family!
When this large family contacted me about doing photos the week before Christmas, we decided to do their session at the Grapevine Railroad Station, where we would have plenty of opportunities for large group shots as well as photos of each individual family unit. The parents and two of the daughters (and their families) live Read more ..
