Take one grumpy, grimy, screeching, teething toddler and one worn-out, frustrated mom who’s ready to lock herself in the bathroom for longer than what seems to be a socially-acceptable few minutes.
Add warm bathwater, baby wash…
and a few simple toys (read: cups). (more…)
I enjoyed getting to meet the Gibson family for their family photo session at their Flower Mound home.
It’s the Kennedy family, back for their second photo session!
I so enjoyed my afternoon at Bear Creek Park with Nickel, his mom, and his girlfriend as we hung out for his high school senior photo session.
Bronte and I had a bit of a mixup/adventure the day of our shoot. I said “Let’s meet at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens” and she heard “Let’s meet at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens.” Now, both are lovely places for a senior photo session, but if you live in the DFW Metroplex, I don’t have to explain our frustration at finding ourselves that far apart during rush hour traffic.
So we frantically searched for a place to meet each other in between the two locations before the sun slipped over the horizon. Thanks to a few friends who know the area quite well and gave me some pointers, we were able to meet up at a small park in Colleyville to catch some photos before the last rays of the sun disappeared.
We spent a weekend with Grandma Great Vivian and all the rest of the Polyak clan in August. Included in the weekend fun was the opportunity for Sawyer to get acquainted with his second cousin, Carson.
Baby Sawyer had his first birthday photo session, complete with a smash cake, at Pensacola Beach in Pensacola, Florida!
This large family from Fort Worth and beyond got together over the holidays and had me capture a few photographs to give to their father as a gift.
Welcome Baby Brooklyn Ann! I so enjoyed getting to spend the morning with newborn baby Brooklynn Ann and her parents Macy and Jonathan for their newborn baby photo session at the Botanical Gardens in Grapevine, TX! Brooklynn’s name is a tribute to the middle names of her maternal and paternal grandmothers! Such a precious Read more ..

I’m a right-brained/left-brained person, which means I have both creative and practical natures that continually jockey for control. My creative mind loves to dream about beautiful photos, delicious meals (I LOVE to cook and eat, but don’t really dig doing the dishes), and interesting music. On the other hand, my right brain thinks about tasks, productivity, and just getting things done. (more…)
Words can’t describe the power of a mother’s prayer, they say, and it’s true. I can’t count the times growing up that I saw my mother kneeling in prayer, asking God to bless and protect me. Still today, even though hundreds of miles away, when I have a need and know I need divine intervention, I pick up the phone and call Mom and ask her to pray. There’s no doubt in my mind that as soon as she hangs up the phone, she is on her knees, praying for me and my own little family.
She taught me so many things, from the difference between a garlic clove and pod (read: Do not make spaghetti sauce with two pods of garlic, but if you do, it’s ok. Your parents will eat it and smile like it’s the best meal ever.) She sacrificially spent her days homeschooling me, diligently planning and preparing for my lessons. Knowing her own limitations, she found tutors for subjects such as trigonometry (who uses that, anyway?) and French. (more…)
Bluebonnets are a relatively new phenomenon to me. When I first moved to Texas 13 years ago, I didn’t quite get why people went nuts every spring over blue flowering weeds growing by the highway. I mean, they are weeds, right? But the longer I’ve lived here, the more they’ve grown on me (no pun intended), and the more I’ve realized that they are kinda a big deal. Why? (more…)
This little man just turned two, and while he wasn’t too thrilled at the prospect of taking his second birthday photos, we did get a few good shots out of our session together at the Bob Jones Nature Center & Preserve in Southlake, TX.
Things really started looking up for us when John discovered a shiny tin watering can! (more…)
I so enjoyed working with this family and their precious little girls, Callie & Delaney, to take some fresh, updated family photos at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens, in Grapevine, TX. Callie had a sweet, soft smile and a demure personality. Delaney was vivacious, personable and full of spunk! We got a little rain that day, Read more ..

We skivvied on down to the pumpkin patch, the pumpkin patch, the pumpkin patch… and we loved it! I mean, seriously. Who doesn’t enjoy time around pumpkins, scarecrows, and tractors? And this was the first “real” cool day of fall, so it actually felt like autumn. And yes, we attempted baby-in-a-pumpkin photos. Sawyer wasn’t too Read more ..
I enjoyed a fun morning with the Kennedy family at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens and the adjacent park. I loved that their mom specifically wanted photos of her kids having fun and just being kids with minimal editing and touch-ups. I especially loved this guy’s freckles! And of course, can’t forget Mom & Dad! Thank Read more ..
