I had such a blast getting to photograph this sweet family for their maternity photo session. Their little boy was SO.MUCH.FUN. and oh so well behaved. And all three of them had such a great sense of humor. (A good sense of humor goes a long way in any photo session…) Congrats Alaniz family on Read more ..

When Dwain contacted me to schedule a surprise engagement photo shoot in Grapevine, Texas, I knew he must be a one-of-a-kind-guy. He had put so much time into planning the perfect day to surprise his girlfriend Allison with a scavenger hunt that would lead her from place to place that held special meaning to their Read more ..

Breely was such a delight to work during her senior bluebonnets session. She strikes me as smart and sensible, but also a lot of fun to be around. While we captured the majority of her senior session photos at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad Station, we spent a little time in a lovely Bluebonnet field as Read more ..

Two words can be used t0 describe my attempt with Sawyer at 2014 Texas Bluebonnets photos: Epic & Fail. I learned last week that the one thing he detests worse than a camera in his face is bluebonnets around his legs. Truly, he is his mother’s child. The thing is, if you look at this Read more ..

The Kalias have been married for decades and have two lovely grown kids. Their daughter, visiting from out of town, contacted me for Grapevine Family Portraits as it had been YEARS since they had taken any. Mom and Dad were so much fun to work with. Dad had such a great sense of humor with Read more ..

I was so delighted with Kay’s mom contacted me about photographing Kay’s senior session portraits. For her senior session, we picked downtown Grapevine, TX for its quaint charm and lovely architectural structures. Kay has a beautiful smile and an infectuous laugh. I love that she wore her mom’s pearl necklace, a special gift from her Read more ..

With this spring weather moving in, and Sawyer’s recent acquisition of a new pair of fabulous dinosaur shoes (Thank you, Grammi!) I decided it was high time to do a sunset mini session at Lake Grapevine with the little guy. My thought was to do this before his shoes got too dirty to photograph. And Read more ..

This beautiful couple was a complete joy to work with to capture a fun, personalized engagement session. We had such a great time spending a Saturday afternoon creating portraits at some abandoned buildings in downtown Fort Worth.

Engagement Session with Lindsay Polyak Photography

For some reason, I love the idea of doing a Valentines Mini Session with my own little munchkin each Valentine’s Day. It’s after the holiday rush and before the weather and sessions really pick back up during the spring. Last year, we did a quick family session, but this year, I took the little guy to a field near our neighborhood and did a quick Valentines mini session.

I so enjoyed my afternoon with Andrea and her sweet family out at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad as we captured their winter family photos!

It’s been such a joy to follow Levi and Heather from their engagement, to their pregnancy and maternity session (check back soon for that blog post!), to the first few days of sweet Sydney Reese’s arrival.  Boy was I glad we did their maternity session when we did, because Sydney made her entrance just days later! And it was with a small sense of pride that I noticed some of my work from their engagement session in their living room when I arrived for Sydney’s newborn photos.

Please enjoy just a few of my favorite photographs from her wonderful newborn photo session.

I often hear my sister-in-law, Jenny, say that she loves being a cop’s wife. She loves the camaraderie of spending time with other wives of policemen, she’s proud of the work her husband, Jimi, does to bring the bad guys to justice, and she loves that they are based in one location and don’t have Read more ..

Have you ever met a couple and spent a little time with them for the purpose of conducting business but thought, I could totally hang out with these people and have a great time? That’s how I felt when I spent an evening capturing sunset photos at the railroad with the Thomas family. We had Read more ..

I so enjoyed my morning with the Chac family when we met up to capture their family Christmas photos at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens!

Family Christmas Photographer

Our crazy Texas weather often makes it difficult to plan what to wear for Christmas family photos, well into the month of November.  And we definitely experienced that predicament with this family photo session.

Southlake Family Photographer

I had the opportunity to capture a kids fall photo session with Jackson and Khloe, brother and sister, at Bob Jones Nature Center in Southlake, TX last month.

Autumn is my favorite season… for the weather, for the leaves, for the apple cider, for the crisp fall air, and especially for taking autumn family photos! What do  photographers do when we are bored?  We look for new and beautiful places for family photo sessions! And I’ll be darned, but I refuse to be the plumber with the leaky faucet; I want lots of great photos of my own family surrounding us in our home!

This local family who is not originally from the Dallas Fort-Worth area had their first Grapevine Vintage Railroad photo session and chose me as their family photographer for their family Christmas photos!

I enjoyed getting to meet and work with the Remley family to create their family Christmas card photos shortly after they  moved to the DFW metroplex.

What to Wear

What you wear can make or break a photo session, and finding just the right photo shoot clothing can be super stressful for Mom. To give you a few ideas, here are a few DO’s and DON’T’s for what to wear for family photos.

  • Plan ahead– There’s nothing more stressful than digging through your children’s closets the night before looking for something, ANYTHING that will look decent in photos. You’ve made the investment into a custom portrait session, so take the time to plan ahead on clothing, and give yourself 2-3 weeks to decide on a color palette, browse fashion boards on Pinterest, look through magazines, raid your family’s closets, and purchase the remaining items for  your photo wardrobe.
